Hi guys,
I have the same issue as what Joe Smith posted lately. Logo disappears while scrolling down
(Theme Settings > Navigation > Sticky menu scales logo). It happens with different browsers, but apparently only on desktop computers – mobile seems to be fine.
As I don’t see an answer on the original post, I come back on this-
Theme: Site origin North – child theme.
Multisite environment – happening on all sites.
If you want to have a look: https://sandcity.de/ Following the links under “Other Events” in the menu, you can approach the other sites.
Your answer would be much appreciated.
Tia and greets,
Claudia
Hi Claudia,
Unfortunately, the user is the linked thread no replied so we weren’t able to look into this issue further. :( Please note that I’ve removed the user link from the thread title to prevent it from showing up in search results.
Is this issue still occurring for you? If so, can you please provide me with a screenshot of what you see when the logo disappears? Please note that we’re currently unable to process attachments so you’ll need to upload the image to a third party image hosting site like Imgur or vgy.me. Also, could you please send me the contents of your console? Please refer to this guide on how to access your browser console.
For reference, here’s a video of me attempting to replicate this:

Hi Alex,
Thanks for answering. I am not in my office in the moment, but will come back to you following your steps end of next week.
Hi Alex,
coming back to my issue.
Here are the screenshots you asked for:
screenshot console: https://vgy.me/5cxRIE.png
screenshot with logo: https://vgy.me/6TnNAR.png
screenshot after logo disappeared: https://vgy.me/CCVODW.png
It does not happen every time, but I saw it on different desktop computers with different browsers, wether logged in to wordpress or not. On mobile devices (checked with Android and ios), it seems to be ok.
Any idea?
Hi Claudia,
Does this issue occur when Autoptimize is deactivated? If it does, can you please show me a screenshot of the console when Autoptimize is deactivated?
Hi Alex,
when Autoptimize is disabled, it does not happen on the homepage, but on all other pages the menu is not sticky anymore
console homepage: https://vgy.me/KrxlXg.png
console subpage: https://vgy.me/Puxia9.png
Note: I reactivated Autoptimize, as this is a live site.
Hi Claudia,
Can you please link me to the subpage that screenshot was taken on? Also, can you please link me to a specific page where you’ve been able to confirm this issue occurs on?
this is the subpage the screenshot was taken on:
https://sandcity.de/projekte/shoppingcenter/
Not sure what you mean with the second sentence: if it’s the issue of menu not being sticky, here is one example: https://sandcity.de/realisierung/
Autoptimize is currently deactivated.
Hi Claudia,
Thanks. Does the issue with the logo disappearing occur when you temporarily disable Easy FancyBox?
Regarding my other question, I was asking if you could link me to a specific page the logo disappearing issue occurred on.
Hi Alex,
Easy FancyBox disabled – the same.
I have the logo disappearing issue f.e. here:
https://sandcity.de/
https://sandcity.de/projekte/workshops-teambuilding/
http://lindel-galleria.de/lg-en/
Hi Claudia,
Thanks. I’ve tried replicating this issue on the linked websites and unfortunately, I haven’t been able too so far. How consistent is this issue occurring for you? What is your screen resolution?
As the test tool says, its currently 2560×1440(?) I am on iMac Retina 5k 5120 x 2880, but as I said, I tested it on different desktop computers like in shops or hotels, and not only Mac. And I have never seen it on mobile screens with Android and iOS.
Unfortunately, it is quite consistent.
It occurs also on other websites in the same multisite-environment.
Hi Claudia,
Thanks. So, to confirm, this issue occurs immediately after scrolling for you, right?
Hi Alexm
Yes, right.
Hi Claudia,
Thanks. I’ll keep trying to replicate this issue on different computers/setups. I’m really sorry about this!
Thanks, Alex.
Hi Claudia,
Sorry for the delay.
I was able to replicate this issue in FireFox on lindel-galleria.de/lg-en – I still haven’t been able to replicate it on any of the other sites you mentioned. Here is the markup of the logo when it’s working:
Here’s what the markup looks like when the issue occurs:
The two key differences are:
Do you have a plugin installed to change the format of the image or any sort of performance related plugins for images?
Hi Alex,
thanks for coming back.
The only plugins that in my opinion would match your question are “WP Retina 2x” and “Short Pixel Image Optimizer”. I can send you a list of all active plugins if you want – let me know.
On a side note: checking everything over and over again myself, I saw the issue for the first time also on my iPad yesterday.
Hi Claudia.
Does this issue occur if you temporarily disable either of those plugins?
Hi Alex,
disabled both plugins at once, and the issue occurs nonetheless (even more often than before). :(
Hi Claudia,
That’s strange. Just to rule it out, can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
Hi Alex,
I followed your recommendations:
– all plugins deactivated except your Pagebuilder, SiteOrigin CSS, and SiteOrigin Widgets.
– cleared all caches
– tested on different computers (all Mac) with different browsers
and: the problem still exists.
and: it appears randomly.
The same page, where the logo disappears on computer A is completely ok on computer B and vice versa.
The issue appears more often in Safari than in Firefox or Chrome, but it happens everywhere.
Still hoping you’ll come up with a brilliant idea ;)
Hi Claudia,
Does this issue occur if you use a non-webp image?
If so, would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look at your general settings?
This is a private message.

Hi Alex,
just created the admin account.
Hi Claudia,
Thanks. I’ve run a few tests and replicated your settings and I can’t seem to replicate this. :(

Hi Alex,
I already did that during the past weekend, see my previous comment. All plugins except those of SiteOrigin deactivated and caches cleared, the issue occurred immediately.
Besides, I see quite some posts here in the support forum reporting similar problems on disappearing logos. So my guess is it has sth to do with SiteOrigin related programming.
Hi Claudia,
Sorry about that!
Would it be possible for me to make a backup of your website for local testing?
Hi Alex,
sorry for replying late. Sure you can: anything that helps to solve the problem is much appreciated! Do you need any activity from my side? If so, let me know.
Hi Claudia,
Thanks. We’ve identified this problem and a fix will be included in the next update.
Wohoo, Alex, great news!
Thanks for your support and looking forward to the update.
Hi Alex,
thanks for the fast update: as far as I could check it up to now, the problem is solved.
But there is a new issue: on Retina screens with Safari, the logos are displayed double as big as they are supposed to (both with Max OSX and iOS). As a quick fix, I removed the retina logos for now, but would be nice to get them back ;).
Hi Claudia,
Thanks for letting us know about this. I’ve logged this as a bug in our issue tracker. We’ll investigate this as soon as possible and try come up with a fix.
Thanks Alex,
and Merry Christmas to you and the SiteOrigin-team!
Hi Claudia,
You too mate! :)
Hi Alex,
thanks for the “Christmas present” ;) Everything works fine after the update!
Hi Claudia,
Great to hear! :)
Please be sure to post another thread if you have any other questions.
