Is there a way to customize WooCommerce Product-category pages?

Let’s say I want to add some introductory text beneath the headings on my WooCommerce Product-category pages, but I want to be able to customize what that text says, depending on which category. For example on the Globes page ( https://www.georgeglazer.com/wpmain/product-category/globes/ ), I want to say something about our globes, and on the Interior Decor page ( https://www.georgeglazer.com/wpmain/product-category/interior-decor-gifts/ ) I want to say something about our interior design services.

Is there a way to do that, using Site Origin? Is that what the Custom Post Type Builder in Site Origin Premium is for?

Thanks,
Helen

I finally figured out that there is a way to add the text in the Description field of each category. But I am wondering what the Custom Post Type Builder in Site Origin actually does. The video is not super clear.

    Hi George,

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to be of assistance with your WooCommerce question, but I’m glad you managed to work out a method of editing them.

The Custom Post Type Builder is used to create additional post types. Post types are effectively what posts and pages so it allows you to create separate posts. It also including templating functionality for SiteOrigin Page Builder to allow you more control over how the posts for that post type will look.

I would recommend giving the documentation on this feature a quick read.

Thanks Alex. I think I understand what Custom Post Type Builder does. This would be a way for me to create one or more template for informational pages like these to add to my WooCommerce site, correct? Right now, we have links to these legacy pages from our new WordPress site, but it would be better to integrate them more into the WordPress design.

    Hi George,

In theory, yes, you could do that with an additional plugin to insert the created post type page.

That isn’t the main usage, however. For the most part, this plugin addon is more designed around you creating post types for clients with a specific page structure. That’s not to suggest what you asked about isn’t possible – it is, with a plugin like Insert Pages.

    Does that make sense?
