Image Grid missing? But installed

This morning (now 10 hours ago) I still had the Image Grid plug-in working perfectly with all images in a beautiful image menu. BUT, suddenly there’s the following error. Got it installed and it’s active and I like the plug-in so don’t want to replace it.
HELP?!??!??!

The widget SiteOrigin_Widget_ImageGrid_Widget is not available. Please try locate and install the missing plugin. Post on the support forums if you need help.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Alwin

Unfortunately we accidentally renamed the Image Grid class name in version 1.5.6, which we had to roll back in version 1.5.7. This means that if you created an Image Grid using version 1.5.6, it’ll give this missing widget error.

If you have a very simple image grid, then I’d just suggest deleting the missing widget and recreating it. If you have quite a few complex image grids, then there is a migration technique, but it’s a little more technical. Let me know if you’d like me to guide you through that process.

Thanks Gary, fortunately I didnt have such a big menu, so I’ll just create a new one. Thanks!

    Working again
Is there a way that the photo text is always visible below the photo. Now the text only comes up when you scroll on the photo.

I had the same problem today – SiteOrigin_Widget_ImageGrid_Widget is not available – for a grid where I *really* don’t want to have to go back and add all the individual URLs for each of the items in the grid. It took a while to do…

Can your migration technique preserve the information I entered? If so, can you please describe what I need to do. Thanks

    Hi @Greg

The technical ‘migration technique’ would be appreciated as really don’t feel like redoing all those galleries, if possible.

    Many Thanks,

    Niki

    Hi, I Work Here

Just as an update; we’ve posted the migration technique here. If it’s a bit… daunting, which let’s admit – is understandable, please by all means leave a and we will happily apply the fix for you.
