Hello!

I have the Vantage theme installed and recommended site origin widgets. How could I display the newest blog post’s featured image with an excerpt? Currently, I’m using Post Loop with the slider setting to show one of my blog categories which is fine for that, but I don’t see a way to just show the newest post (just 1) with the excerpt. Additionally, is there a way to link to the rest of my blog posts within one of these widgets? So it takes you to the page assigned to display the blog in the default chronological order? The numbered page buttons isn’t what I’m looking for.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Smdavis

Thanks for reaching out, sorry we weren’t able to reply sooner.

You can insert a Post Loop widget and select the Blog template from the template drop-down menu in the widget. You can also click the Build posts query button in the Post Loop widget and set the Posts per page field to 1.

At the moment it isn’t possible to hide the pagination that will show below the Post Loop widget. If you send us a link to the page concerned we can do that for you using Custom CSS.

Whether or not the posts in the Post Loop widget display Full Content or Excerpt is set at AppearanceCustomizeTheme SettingsBlog.

When a user clicks on a post it would take them to the single post and not the blog page, there isn’t any way around that at the moment. Your blog page can be assigned from SettingsReading OR you can insert a Post Loop widget into another page and manually create a blog page in that way.
