    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Slash,

To clarify, have you got two pages you’ve called home, or just one?

If it’s the latter, please open up the homepage by navigating to WP Admin > Appearance > Home Page and then click Edit as page at the top of the page. This will open the typical WordPress editor interface.

If it’s the former, you’ll need to navigate to WP Admin > Pages > All Pages and then search for the home page you wish to edit. Once you’ve found it, make your adjustments.

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

I tried the same methods earlier but still could not find my page called ‘home’ in ‘all pages’ it shows a page called ‘home page’ and there is nothing called home which is a page on my website. If i edit that as a page it simply changes it on my google chrome tab. can i send you a screen shot?

    regards,
    Praveer

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Slash78,

I suspect the home page you’re referring to is actually the home page you’re seeing. I would recommend opening that and adjusting the title either via the post title or via Yoast. If you would prefer, I can do this for you but there may be a slight delay before I’m able to do this due to reasons out of my control.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Slash78,

Ah, I see what’s happen. So you haven’t set up a proper WordPress menu and because of that WordPress automatically generated you one. I’ve set your menu up with all of its pages and a proper home page link. To clarify, the home link was a dummy link inserted by WordPress – It wasn’t actually attached to anything which explains why you couldn’t find it.

Now that your menu is set up correctly you have a few options.

    • You can edit the homepage title – WP AdminAppearanceHome Page and then click Edit as a page and then adjust the Post title.
    • You can relabel the homepage link in the menu by navigating to WP AdminAppearanceMenu and then opening the home page menu item (click it). Then adjust the navigation label to your liking.
    • You can also just remove the home page menu link from the menu if desired by opening it and then clicking delete.

For more information please refer to this guide. Annoyingly the video seems to not be showing (that’ll be fixed soon) so here’s a direct link to the video for menus.

Let me know if this helps.
