How do I create a blog page in Vantage

I’ve created a website with the Vantage theme but now want to add a blog page that looks like a magazine style layout with images and stories. I also want to bring in stories from two other websites – either as part of the blog page or on separate news style page. I can’t work out where to start – what components do I use? Can anyone help?

    Hi Lizziep

Very sorry about the late reply. We work through a prioritized forum queue, and unfortunately it’s taken us some time to get to your thread.

Yes, I definitely need help please!

You'll see I have set up a news page on the site now but it's all wrong ?

I want a blog page that likes look one of the sites linked below and maybe with our twitter feed in a right hand column – but just can't work it out.

Sure. Go to Appearance > Theme Settings > Blog and set the Blog Archive Layout to Blog. Next, in that same tab, set the Featured Image Type to Small Icon.

To get widgets showing in the right column, go to Appearance > Widgets and add the widgets you’d like to be displayed. They should appear in the sidebar of the news page. Just make sure the news page is set to Page Template > Default. That control is in the right column of each page when editing it.

Thanks very much Andrew – this worked a treat and our page is now up and live. It’s not very fancy (I guess I could play around with the fonts…) but I even managed to put in our social media feed!! So am happy for now :)
