Hero Widget hides drop-downs from menu

I love the Hero image widget but I cannot figure out how to prevent it from covering the drop-downs from my menu. I saw on one forum response to try adding this:
.site-header {
z-index: 999 !important;
}

Unfortunately it did not work for me. Do I need something different based on my theme? (MagazinePro) My site is http://hungryenoughtoeatsix.com

My understanding of html/code is really limited so I appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Nancy,

    You can fix this with some custom CSS. If you navigate to AppearanceCustom CSS, you’ll get our custom CSS editor. Just add the following code.

    .genesis-nav-menu .sub-menu {
      z-index: 999;
    }

    How does that look?

    You might also need to install the SiteOrigin CSS Editor.
