Hero Widget Help

Hello,

I’ve just created a hero widget on my home page but I am experiencing some difficulties.

www.sasaksoul.com

Firstly, I edit the overlaying text on the dashboard visual editor (not live editor) and when I preview, it sits nicely in the bottom/middle of the image, underneath the wave and surfers. When I click to update it, and view the page, the text is suddenly at the top of the image. When I go into either live or dashboard editor to try and edit the row, I then get a blank white screen with a date and time on it. I’ve tried deleting the entire widget and starting again, but the same thing happens.

The second thing is that I don’t know how to remove the small strip of white between the menu and the hero image.

Advice would be gratefully received. Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Helen

    Thanks for posting.

The date appearing is a Wordfence issue, please see Thread: Date appearing when trying to edit widgets in Page Builder.

Try editing the Hero, open the frame and edit the content in Text view, rather remove the empty h1 and p tags. Then scroll down to the bottom of the Hero widget. Set the top padding to say 200px, give that a try. Test for mobile too.

If you got to Pages and edit your home page, check the Page Settings metabox in the right column. You should be able to disable the masthead bottom margin to get the top element flush with the menu.
