Hero Image Widget – want buttons in horizontal row

By default, the two buttons I made in the Hero Image Widget (by adding the [buttons] shortcode in the Frame) got stacked on top of each other vertically (with no margin). I used Custom CSS to apply a margin, but I want the buttons to be horizontal next to each other. Could not find a way to do that within the widget, or with Custom CSS. Am I missing something obvious?

    Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.
