Hero Image in posts above the content With sidebar

10 years ago · Last reply by KayBee 10 years ago

hey guys……

i would like to use those hero images for my articles. Is it possible to set such a hero image in full width above the content of the articles? The article page has a sidebar on the right…….my problem is that the hero image is only shown in the content of the left ( in main content )…and right is the sidebar……the hero image should be above the whole content with no sidebar….

a have another plugin for hero images for static sites…..all works fine…but when i will use that plugin also for all of my articles it will be impossible to have a good organization…

i hope u understand me ;)

thanks a lot

    Hi KayBee,

So the issue here is that SiteOrigin Page Builder runs in the post, not before it. I suspect the other plugin does it prior to it and thus is easily able to appear before the sidebar. With that said, if you know this is going to be a constant (as in a standard) I can provide you with CSS to hide the CSS on posts and thus accomplish what you’re after.

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

    Hi KayBee,

Just to confirm. You do not want the sidebar. As in, not at all visible. Correct?

That’s pretty much all I can help you with. :( Outside of recommending a rather annoying (for you) CSS workaround. This is more of a hook issue which I’m not able to fix.

ah ok….i am not finished in styling……but on post sites / articles there should be always a sidebar……..some static sites should also have a sidebar, but not at all….

    Hi KayBee,

Okay so based on your comments, you don’t wany anything that will “waste” a lot of time. I can’t offer you a method that won’t “waste a lot of time” so I’m going to be unable to help you. :( I’m sorry – you should instead look towards alternative plugins to do what your after.

i wanted to say that it is very extensive ( is that the right word in english for that ) to add such an hero image for my post…cause first i have to upload that image in the theme design….after that it is automatically shown as a selection for the page or post, but…there are ALL hero images i have used before…and ALL images are shown vertically….so after 50-200 pages/posts i have to scroll 10 minutes …………

and it dont wast my time to customize the homepage before launching ;)

    thanks for your help
