Height doesn’t gets applied in Hero widget

Hello,

I would like to show my frame background image in full height with a smaller text on it. When I set the slider height to the image height or to 100% in the “Design and Layout” tab nothing is changing. It keeps the height of the inner text.

Did I miss any setting to get my defined height work?

Regards
Denis

    Hi Denis,

Setting a percentage height won’t always work so I would try using a different unit of measurement. I recommend vmin which functions quite similar to percentages. I recommend giving the following article a quick read as it’ll outline how to do this:

Create a Fullscreen Slider with the SiteOrigin Hero Widget – SiteOrigin

    Hi Alex,

thank you for this article. I’ve set the row layout to

    Full Width Stretched

and the height to 100vh, but there is still no change in height here. Even when I create a whole new row with a new widget the height settings are getting ignored. My image is 1687x589px big.

    Hi Delug,

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

I’m sorry, the website is on localhost. When I look into the HTML I see that the height of the slides only changes when I change the content height. The Design and Layout settings does not have any effect.

    Hi Delug,

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? I ask as the Height set in the Design and Layout setting should be controlling the height of the slides. You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

This is a new wordpress installation where only your page builder was installed before. There is no caching between. I think I will try another slider plugin. Thank you anyway.

    Hi Delug,

That’s fine. Please note that plugin conflicts can be introduced as a result of general plugin updates.
Let me know if you would like to pick this back up and I’ll lend a hand.
