Header image (“Vantage is responsive to the…”) – How to change?

9 years ago · Last reply by Richard Downs 9 years ago

Hello,

I am new to this theme – so far it looks really good and ideal for what I need as long as I can replace this slider header with my own. I don’t want a guy playing basketball on a mobile phone on my home page!

So far I cannot find anywhere in the customisation menus where to do this.

Also when I go to ‘Page Template Settings’, the menu is completely empty. Should it be? At one point I’m sure I did see some options briefly appear for a split second…

Hope someone can help!

Thanks

    Hi Richard,

You can edit the home page slider by navigating to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize and then Theme Settingshome. For more information please refer to the documentation for the home page slider.

Regarding the page template settings, yes – that’s intentional. Those settings are contextual and will only appear when relevant. For more information please refer to the documentation for this particular settings group.

Let me know if this helped. :)

    Hi Alex,

Thank you for the reply, but I don’t appear to have that home button…

    Hi Richard,

Oh, you’re a premium user. My previous instructions will take effect when the Vantage Premium update is released sometime this week. As you’re a Vantage Premium user, you’re entitled to priority email support. If you would like to make use of that, please follow the instructions found on this page. Please reference this thread.

In the meantime, please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceTheme Settings and adjust the Home Page Slider setting.

    Hi Alex,

As far as I’m aware I’m not a premium user as I haven’t paid for anything?

If I follow your instructions above I get this message:

    error

However, I have found the slider option described in your screenshot above and have set it to a new slider with a test image, but this does not work either.

This screenshot shows my new image for Slider: New Slider

    New Slider

And this screenshot shows the New Slider been selected in the customise settings:

    New settings

However, as you can see the slider on the website remains the same.

    Thanks

    Hi Richard,

    Whoops. Sorry about that!

To clarify, did you save the change or did you only preview it?

    Hi Richard,

Hm. Please try opening the homepage and click edit. Then ensure you’ve got the full edit screen open (click Edit as Page if offered) and then ensure that in the Page Meta Slider isn’t set to demo slider.
