Hi there!

I have three questions concerning the Vantage theme!

First of all, I would like to erase the white space above the menu in the header. How can I do that?

Second, I added a privacy statement link tot he footer of the website, but it doesn’t look quite right. I would love to have the link to the privacy statement BELOW the social media icons and centered. Is this possible?

Third, is there a way to add social media icons and a logo IN the menu? The social media icons should also be white. Right now, the Vantage social media pack doesn’t really match my site.

Thanks for the help!

    Hi Emilie,

I would like to erase the white space above the menu in the header. How can I do that?

Please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize, Theme DesignsGeneral and set Header Padding to 0.

I would love to have the link to the privacy statement BELOW the social media icons and centered. Is this possible?

Please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize, Theme SettingsGeneral and Privacy Policy Link. This setting relies on the WordPress privacy page which is set up by navigating to WP AdminSettignsPrivacy.

Third, is there a way to add social media icons and a logo IN the menu?

This is possible with a plugin called Widgets in Menu for WordPress.

Right now, the Vantage social media pack doesn’t really match my site.

The Vantage Social Media buttons are a legacy widget. I would give the SiteOrigin Social Media Buttons a try instead. This widget is added by the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin and can be activated by navigating to WP AdminPluginsSiteOrigin Widgets.

    Hi Alex!

    Thanks for all the help!
Everything worked, except for the white space above the menu.

When I visit WP Admin – Appearance – Customize – Theme Designs – General I only see two options:
    – Site information text
    – SiteOrigin reference

I don’t see an option “Header Padding”. Is that possible?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Emilie,

The mentioned settings are the Theme Settings. Please navigate to Theme DesignGeneral instead of Theme SettingsGeneral.

If you are viewing Theme DesignGeneral (please double check), are you using the latest version of Vantage (1.9.1)? If not, please update Vantage. For reference, you can find the latest Theme Design > General settings here.

    Hi Alex!

I found the Header Padding and set it to 0, but I still see white space above the menu. Is that possible?
Also, I added a logo to the menu using the Widgets In Menu plugin, but it lines out to the top of the menu, instead of being centered with same amount of space above and below the logo:

    Thanks!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Emilie,

That’s strange. Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

Regarding the Widgets In Menu, that maintains the standard alignment with the rest of the menu items. If your menu items aren’t aligning with the logo correctly, it’s possible you have some empty spacing present (which we cannot detect due to technical limitations) in the logo that’s resulting in misalignment.

    Hi Alex

    Here is the link: https://test.wysiwygvzw.be

As you can see, the white space is still there, even though I set it to 0!

    Thanks!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Emilie,

Thanks. Please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize, Theme SettingsLayout and set the Masthead Layout to Logo In Menu. Save. How does that look?

I recommend adding your logo via WP AdminAppearanceCustomzie, Theme SettingsLogo instead of a menu widget as the theme logo setting will allow you to easily set a Retina Logo.
