I have tried numerous gallery plugins to no avail with Vantage. The gallery columns will collapse, but images don’t resize at all, they just stay the same size then collapse. Right now I’m using Gallery Master, but all others I’ve tried have been the same story. — The slider I’m using is resizing beautifully (Master Slider).
Any advice? Our website is intended to be a large services/portfolio site and galleries/albums/lightboxes will be a huge part of this.

If you’re installing Jetpack for the first time, disable all modules from Jetpack > Settings and then just activate the ones you want. The advantage of using these two is you’re making use of regular WP galleries so it’s really easy to switch to other plugins at a later stage.

I did not try tiled-galleries because it doesn’t look like it supports albums, which I need to use. Do you know of a gallery/album/lightbox combination that will work in Vantage and be fully responsive?

Those two are my go to plugins. If you find a plugin that you’d like to use, are happy with it and find it’s not working with Vantage you can send us the plugin name and I’ll check it out.

I haven’t tried those because when reading about tiled-galleries, it doesn’t look like there is an option for albums, which I need to use, and show on each page. Is there? And maybe I’m not just seeing it?

Not quite with you. WordPress by default doesn’t have albums, just galleries. Tiled Galleries and lightbox plugins like Colorbox Plus, use the default WordPress media and gallery system. So no albums.
