Esty Shop plugin shortcode not working

8 years ago · Last reply by chapmanio 8 years ago

Hello,

I am trying to use the Etsy Shop plugin https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/etsy-shop/ with the page builder, but no matter what I try it just outputs the text of the shortcode.

I have seen from other posts to try the custom HTML widget, or even just the text modes no the other editors, but nothing is helping this to jump to life.

Are there any options to get this working?

Thank you.

    Hi Chapmanio,

To confirm, are you using the etsy-shop shortcode or a different shortcode? I ask as the linked plugin has two methods of adding your shop to pages. The first way doesn’t use WordPress shortcodes (it filters the post data itself which is why it won’t work) and the second way is a proper shortcode (this is etsy-shop).

    Hi Alex,

I am using the Etsy Shop shortcode:

    [etsy-include=ShopName;CategoryID]

I wasn’t aware of another way for getting the data using this plugin. If I had time I would look through the API code and try to write something myself… but I just don’t have that time haha.

    Regards

    Hi Chapmanio,

The “shortcode” you’re using now isn’t compatible with SiteOrigin Page Builder. Please use the [etsy-shop] shortcode instead. I would refer to the plugin’s documentation for instructions on using this shortcode.

Thanks Alex, that sorted my issue. Unfortunately the documentation for that plugin is inconsistent! Maybe one day I will write my own…
