I get 9 lines of error notification in the Footer when I activate Google Language Translator as follows:
Notice: Undefined variable: english_flag_choice in /home/lleschool/public_html/wp-content/plugins/google-language-translator/google-language-translator.php on line 372
Can you help me to eliminate these errors please?
Many thanks
Noel.
Hi Noel
Thanks for reaching out.
Sorry to hear about the hassle. You shouldn’t be showing front end errors like this on a production site. If this is something you’d like to resolve here is how to turn off WP Debug in your WordPress wp-config.php file:
https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG
The errors you’re seeing look specific to the plugin. You’d ideally need to chat to the developer about what might be wrong there. Some steps you can take before doing so are:
Test the plugin with a default theme like Twenty Fifteen, that’ll let you now if Vantage is the problem.
Test with Twenty Fifteen theme and all other plugins de-activated, that’ll let you know if a plugin conflict is to blame.
Hi Andrew
Many thanks for your prompt support. I reset Debug to ‘false’ in wp-config and that has cleared the error messages.
Kind regards
Noel.
Super, glad to hear you made progress there. If that change wasn’t too hard then it’s something you can turn ON again in the future if you’re trying to troubleshoot a problem. For example, the plugin in question, the author might request those errors if he was trying to troubleshoot a problem.
All the best.
