Hello
I discovered a strange behaviour when working with the Page Builder plugin on a Theme called Ashoka from Geekslab.
After going through the forum here, I noticed I am not the only one with this issue.
The Theme I bought provides some demo files which seem to work fine as long as I don’t touch them. But as soon as I do some changes on them and want to save them, I only get a text (code) preview of my content – the pagebuilder rows are gone, and there’s no way of getting them back…
Here’s a little screencast I recorded for the Theme vendor, but the issue does seem to be on your side.

I first thought there might be a problem with a third party plugin, but I deactivated all oft the others (except the ones I need for the Theme).
Thank you for your help
Pierre
Hi VjPulp,
Firstly let me just thank you personally for including a video in your post. You have no idea how much I appreciate you for taking the time to create a video about the problem you’re having. It seriously explains it the exact problem so much better than text ever could.
Now while this is an issue that I don’t think we (read: I’m new here so I mainly mean me) were previously aware of (I see no record of it on our Issue Tracker) we do have a built-in workaround. If you open up a new page and switch to the page builder tab and click prebuilt layouts, you’ll see mention of the ability to clone pages and posts. We recommend that for cloning posts but regardless of what we recommend we will be looking into this issue.
Ideally, could you leave this video up so it can be referenced at a later time?
Hi VjPulp,
I’ve run some local tests and I’m actually unable to replicate this. As such I think this is a plugin conflict. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
Hi Alex
Thank you so much for your quick reply!! Wow, that’s what I call customer service!
So, as for the plugins, I deactivated the tird party (“duplicate post”) and followed your suggestion via prebuilt layout. But the issue still remained. So I also deactivated all the Theme related plugins (they’re called Akosha Widgets and Akosha Portfolio). So far, the issue seems to be gone… So, to me, it looks like the Akosha Widgets caused the problem… which would be strange, since the guys from Akosha/Geekslab had to build their content somehow…?
Anyway, this would be a huge bummer if I had to swich the Theme because of this issue… I really love the look of it.
Thanks your your help!
As for other users that seemed to have a similar issues:
I found these threads here that sounded familiar – although with older versions of Page Builder…
Thread: Problems with PageBuilder in posts
Thread: page builder not working
Thread: Missing Page Builder Tab in WordPress
Thread: page builder tab missing
This is a private message.
Thanks Alex.
Yeah, I already contacted the Theme developer, but they don’t react as quickly as you do ;-)
Will see what they respond… I’m actually surprised, haven’t seen anything related to this issue on their support site – as if nobody else had these problems with their theme…
Thanks for your time and help anyway!
Hi vjPulp,
Thank you for the kind words. :) Is there anything else I can help you with today?
Thank you, right now I’m completely absorbed with this issue, so no, you won’t be able to help with anything else…
