Efficiently changing to Vantage Premium

Gents,

I am the very happy owner of 5 Vantage premium versions for my own business and family of which 3 are already live. It is an awesome design with the right features for a user friendly coding and mobile friendly applications
A few questions:
1. How do I best prepare an existing website using Vantage premium facilitated Page Builder before migrating.
2. Is there a smart of way to create page builder blocks from an existing text code
3. How can I best change the Size of the Icon in css without disturbing the padding and margins?

Thanks for a quick response

Ed

    Hi Ed

Thanks for your support, it’s most appreciated.

    1. Page Builder character encoding can be a challenge when migrating a site. The best bet is to use Duplicator to do any server moves: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

    2. None at the moment.

If you need to repeat widgets or series of widgets you can privately publish a page, build your mini-layout and then on your target page use the Layout Builder > Prebuilt button to clone the template page. That way you can insert a page into a single part of another page. Separate issue to your question though.

    3. Can we see the page you’re working with? Which icon on that page? Thanks.

    Hi Andrew

    Thanks for quick response.
I use duplicator so will test that for Vantage.
On the icon I forgot to mention it's the circle icon widget.
I did increase size in css which works fine but margins changed.
As I wish to avoid creating a hack that might affect other files your advise here is much appreciated.

    Hi, I Work Here

Can we perhaps take a look at the particular icon you’re attempting to change the size of? Do you have a public url?

    Hi, I Work Here

Have you perhaps tried the Features widget instead? It has settings for the icon size.

    Hi Andrew

An general example of the circle icons is on this page.
Currently in largest size from 3 choices

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks, with you now. Making the switch to the Features widget would be the easiest. Do you perhaps want to give it a try on a test page?

    Thanks Andrew

I will try the features widget.
You guys have thought of everything in the css references.

    Hi, I Work Here

Hopefully it does the trick. Let me know how it goes. The Features widget, being part of the Widgets Bundle and not Vantage is also better in that if you ever change themes, it will move with you to the next theme. No theme tie in.

    Hi Andrew,

I noticed the following problem using pagebuilder and widgets:

    * Adding css shadow to text inside html code in the *visual editor widget* *will not show* the shadow for regular web visitors unless logged in as an admin.
    * Adding css shadow to the simple *text editor widget does show* the shadow for both logged in and passers by.
    * Not using page builder / no widgets offers normal html and css control

Do you recognize this problem or could you simulate to check if it is just me?

Just a bit of code used in*visual text editor widget*:

    <h1><span style="color:#fad23b;text-shadow: rgb(0, 0, 0) 1px 1px
    2px;line-height:1.3;font-size:1.5em;">CONTROLLED</span></h1>

    * view page logged is OK
    * view page logged out = no shadow

    Hi :)

Adding css shadow to text inside html code in the *visual editor widget* *will not show* the shadow for regular web visitors unless logged in as an admin.

Seeing a change logged in and not seeing it logged out is almost always a caching issue. If you’re running a caching plugin, try clearing it’s cache.

If you can confirm the page you’ve added it to I’ll check the source to confirm.

    Thanks
