Design changes to one widget are affecting another

3 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 3 years ago

Hi,

I am having an issue on this page: https://discoverbrookline.com/places-of-interest/

I am making each widget a varied background color, or border, or border radius, etc. I am finding that when I make or edit one widget, some of the customizations are disappearing from another.

For example, I just added the round blue circular box on the bottom right of the page. When I did that, the box titled “Brookline Farmers Market” on the top of the middle row lost its yellow background color and rounded edges, though the settings are still there as I set them. This is the second time this type of thing has happened.

I assume there is some sort of conflicting css going on, but I don’t know how to start going about diagnosing this. Can you help?

Thank you.

    Hi, thanks for reaching out.

Please, try clearing and temporarily deactivating LiteSpeed Cache and then see if the issue persists.

Thank you for your response. I purged the cache and deactivated the
Lightspeed plugin and the issue persists.

Thanks for trying. Please, try extending the plugin conflict test. Temporarily deactivate all plugins except for Page Builder and the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. Does the issue persist?

Hi, I did as you said and deactivated all plugins except SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle and Page Builder, and checked the page in Incognito Mode and the issue persists.

Thanks for the update. Please, try extending the test:

    – Temporarily switch to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen.
    – Temporarily deactivate all plugins except for the Widgets Bundle and Page Builder.
    – Try recreating the steps that previously caused the issue. Does the issue re-occur in the same manner?

Hi, I did the 3 steps you described above and I could not recreate the error, though some of the boxes are still not displaying as they are set in SiteOrigin. Please advise as to next steps.

Thanks for the update. If you’ve found a working baseline with only the Widgets Bundle and Page Builder activated; that’s good news. Next:

    – Reactivate your theme. Try to replicate the issue.
    – Reactivate your plugins one by one. Try to replicate the issue.

If you have a lot of plugins and assuming you get to my second point above; you can reactivate several plugins at a time. That way you can make progress by still work out which plugin is causing the issue.
