Default Column Count Editor (add new row)

We have a 1 column page and if you add a new row in the editor the default column count is always 2. I found a filter with name “siteorigin_panels_row_column_count_input” to modify the underlying markup but is does not work. The markup gets changed and the value is “1” for example but the editor opens and it still says “2”. I think there is some magic happening with JS to render the preview and in somehome the init value gets ignored.

Any Ideas?

Best regards
Peter

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Peter,

I’ve been able to replicate the issue you’ve outlined, and I’ve come up with a fix here. I’ve prepared you a patched version of Page Builder with the fix included and you can download it by clicking here.

    Before proceeding, do a backup.

Once downloaded, open your site and navigate to PluginsInstalled Pluginsand deactivate Page Builder by SiteOirgin, then delete it. Scroll to the top of the page and click Add New, Upload Plugin and upload siteorigin-panels.2.12.4.1.zip. When prompted, activate Page Builder by SiteOrigin.

    Kind regards,
    Alex

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Peter,

In retrospect, I’ve don’t think this filter is what you’re after as it’ll only change the cell adjustment options and not the default columns for rows. Changing the default columns for rows isn’t currently possible, but I’m going to introduce a filter very shortly that will allow for this. I’ll let me know when it’s ready for testing. :)

    Kind regards,
    Alex

    Hi Peter,

I’ve introduced a new filter called siteorigin_panels_default_row_columns that will allow you to adjust the default number of columns for rows. You can find the PR for this change here. The work in progress documentation can be found here. I’ve prepared you a patched version of Page Builder with the fix included and you can download it by clicking here.

Once downloaded, open your site and navigate to PluginsInstalled Plugins and deactivate Page Builder by SiteOirgin, then delete it. Scroll to the top of the page and click Add New, Upload Plugin and upload siteorigin-panels.2.12.5.1.zip. When prompted, activate Page Builder by SiteOrigin.

    Kind regards,
    Alex
