I know this is well documented but I moved the site before I knew anything about this. I’m assuming it hasn’t been solved yet because I haven’t seen any updates saying so, but I may have a clue if the cause of this is still unknown.
After cloning the site and using the velvet blues tool to reset the URLs I found the content problem, and after trying to figure it out for a while I realized the GUIDs were still the same which would make sense if I was just migrating rather than cloning and making an entirely new website. I decided to try resetting them to the new URL and now some of my pages are working again.
The tool only reset about 10% of the GUIDs on the site though, I believe the rest of the pages were made using a page cloning tool which may also be another issue.
I would recommend doing a database backup before doing anything like this and if you’re not sure what GUIDs are you should do some reading before changing anything.
Hopefully this helps someone or helps siteorigin resolve this issue.

Hi Eric,
This isn’t an issue we can fix sadly. Basically, migration plugins need to be able to handle serialized data in a correct manner for the migration to be successful. The plugin you referenced seems to have very basic support for this but not at the level required. We strongly recommend using the excellent Duplicator plugin in the future as this will not only transfer all of the data but it’ll also ensure all of your GUID’s are updated.
