Cyrillic characters issue

I use PageBuilder plugin with the Vantage Premium theme on a website I’m building.

From some point I started experiencing problems with cyrillic text inserted into posts via PageBuilder widgets. The plugin doesn’t save cyrillic characters when inserted into the title filed or into the body text area. Or rather it does save somewhat truncated text for the first time when I add a new widget and type some text in it, but then if I want to edit it shows just blank fields. I didn’t notice it at first, only when it came to editing texts. Or may be the whole issue emerged only after some upate, althought rolling back to earlier versions didn’t help.

I use Cirlcular Icon widget, Text widget, Post Loop and Visual Editor, and the problem occurs in all of them.

I did try to deactivate all other widgets but nothing changes.
My WordPress version is 3.9, PB is updated to 1.4.11.

Could you please help me sort this out? It is a great plugin and it would be pity not to use it only due to “language barrier”.

    Hi Vladimir

    Please can you try temporarily de-activating all other plugins and see if the issue continues.

    Andrew, thanks for your prompt answer.
    I seem to have found what caused the problem. Turns out it wasn’t your plugin’s fault at all.
    Just now I was playing around with my site’s PHP version settings, trying to reslove quite another issue with wordpress that’s been nagging me for a while, and discovered that both my problems go away if I switch to PHP 5.2 instead of 5.3.
    You have a great plugin and I’m glad I can use it – and it saves me a lot of time and effort not having to invent some workarounds or ways to make the same layout but without it.
