Custom Taxonomy Template

Hi,

I know this question has been asked already before, but I’m not clear if there’s any way to create a template in the format of taxonomy-{slug}.php to show the custom taxonomy?

I’ve tried and it always takes me to the 404 page instead.
Could you please shed some lights on this?

Thanks beforehand for your support.

    Hi Carl,

Sorry for the delay. Preface: I would recommend using a child theme to ensure changes aren’t lost.

Yes, this is possible and the method you used should be working. Could you tell me more about your setup – what is the category slug used and what is the name of the category? For more information on creating custom taxonomy templates please refer to this page.

    hi Alex,

    Thanks for your reply.

Actually I´ve got it working by changing the name to taxonomy.php. Once placed in my child theme it picked up.
After your comments I´ve tried again with the -{slug} and it worked. Therefore, there may have been some caching happening at that time.

    Cheers.
