Custom Taxonomy Template

Hi, I know this question has been asked already before, but I’m not clear if there’s any way to create a template in the format of taxonomy-{slug}.php to show the custom taxonomy? I’ve tried and it always takes me to the 404 page instead. Could you please shed some lights on this? Thanks beforehand for…
