Custom Home Page widgets gone in site builder

On my site’s custom home page edit interface all of the site builder widgets are gone. The home page still displays properly but I am unable to edit it. History, live editor, and edit-as-page all take me back to a version that is several months old. I’ve tried disabling all non-siteorigin plugins, but the problem persists. I am using a child theme (with minimal changes to original theme), and I’ve tried switching back to original vantage theme to no avail. I set up a temp admin account in case you need to have a look under the hood, you should have a username and password in main support email.

    Hi BFox

    Sorry to hear about this problem. The good news is that your home page is still present under Pages > Home and editable. I tested that out now. Greg is going to take a look for us and try figure out what happened to Appearance > Home page and why the page isn’t manageable from there anymore.

    Hi BFox,

    Did you by any chance import your content into this site recently? There is one instance I’ve come across where the Appearance > Home Page interface becomes disconnected from the actual Home page. It’s usually around importing/exporting content.

    Let me know if this isn’t the case and I’ll dive a little deeper into the issue to try figure out what’s going on.

    Excellent, I'm sure I had tried to edit from Pages > home before, but I have not tried that since turning plugins off and on. That's a start… Thanks!

    I haven't imported content; but had done a manual backup (using duplicator) not long before the problem began. The last thing I did before losing the interface was edit and move the three widgets in the next to last row. Thanks for your help.

    Thanks for the feedback here. I’ve logged a bug report on our side. Greg will attend soon to prevent this happening again in the future. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. The bad news is that for now, you’d need to work from Pages > Home. Really hope you haven’t lost much work. A big apology from Greg and myself.

    Editing from Pages>Home is working fine now. Nothing lost except a little time, and not much of that thanks to your quick response. In case it helps for bug tracking, version #s, etc., I first noticed the issue on December 24 (and then put off dealing with it…). Thanks again.
