Custom Home Page not turning on

11 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 11 years ago

When I turn on “Custom Home Page” and hit “Save Home Page” it takes me to the home page. When I go back to “Home Page” in the backend, it shows “Custom Home Page” is off. I turned off all other plugins and it still did this. Would this be a mod security issue?

Also, the in post navigation is backwards. Meaning that when on page 2, page 1 button is on the right, and page 3 button is on the left.

Ok, I got “Custom Home Page” to turn on. Host had to change some parameters.

However, the “More URL” on the custom home page options does not work. There is a # that ends up left in the URL and doesn’t work. If I remove the # from the “More URL” box, then the root domain is removed from the URL and it doesn’t work. Either way, it doesn’t work.

    Hi Cappy

    Thanks for running Vantage.

Have you tried setting an absolute url for the More URL field? Basically set the full url of the page you’d like to link to.

    Hi Andrew, thanks for responding.

That didn’t work at first, but it did work after the host reduced some of the security.

I managed to get the page navigation to work correctly, but ONLY with the Custom Home Page features. With the basic webpage, the ordering was backwards, and if I changed the ordering of the posts, they reordered on the home page. But with the Custom Home Page, the positions of those items is fixed, so I could reorder the posts and they stayed in place.

The Custom Home Page has by default a Post Loop widget added. You can edit the Post Loop widget and change the ordering it uses. Let me know if you need help in this regard.
