Custom CSS with Vantage Premium

10 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 10 years ago

I’m just starting out with Custom CSS. I viewed the intro video and then tried to open Custom CSS editor for my website. My home page loads, I see the visual editor to the left, However when I move my cursor over the live website page nothing happens. I do not see any elements of the page. Am I doing something wrong?

    Hi Robert

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

Thank you for your quick reply. The problem was the NextGEN gallery plugin. I have used it in the past on other sites but at this point I'm not sure it's necessary. If you have recommendation for a replacement that's cool, but not something to worry about.

I would like to experiment with layers on the slider can you suggest a beginners tool for creating that sort of graphic?

    Thank you.

    For sure.

I prefer using Jetpack’s Tiled Galleries and Carousel modules. That way you’re using regular WordPress galleries which you could change back to default at any time:

I unfortunately not up to speed on the simpler end of photo editing tools. A long time ago I used The Gimp which is free. Here are a few ideas:

    Hope that helps.
