Hi there!
I have recently taken over design of a client’s website – see here.
I’m not too familiar with SiteOrigin page builder and still fairly new to CSS. What I am hoping to achieve is for the viewer of the website to hover over each image, and to have a selected excerpt of the bio to appear on mouse hover over a variable background.
Is it possible to add some sort of a span to each div (I think the identifier is “pgc-1374-2-1” with the last digit moving up sequentially) which will show text over a background such as {background-color:rgba(160,20,80,0.3);}?
Do I need to download an additional widget to be able to do so?
Hi Joseph
Thanks for reaching out.
I’ve written a guide to Page Builder row and widget attributes here that you may find useful in the future, perhaps as your Custom CSS knowledge grows. We also offer a visual CSS editor, SiteOrigin CSS.
SiteOrigin Premium offers an image overlay addon. You can view the demo and documentation to get a better idea of what the overlay addon can offer.
Designing an overlay using Custom CSS is, unfortunately, beyond the support we’re able to offer here on the forums. We’re a small operation with limited resources. Our free support mostly focusses on basic usage and troubleshooting. We’re able to expand that scope via email support for our SiteOrigin Premium users as the budget allows it.
Hi Andrew,
Thank you for the clarification. I’ll dive into the CSS editor and have a play around.
For sure :) Good luck.
