Dear Team SiteOrigin,

On the Button widget, how can you set the default test attributes for the button widget? The text is a link text object. Where can that be changed is the css style script? The button widget has a setting but only for the width for mobile devices.

Kind regards,

Caps

    Hi Caps

    Thanks for posting.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a method for setting the default colors in the Design and Layout section of the Button Widget. You can target all Button widgets using the Custom CSS provided at the bottom of the Button Widget documentation page: Page: Button Widget Documentation. Unfortunately, I don’t think this will satisfy your goal of setting new defaults that can be overridden using the Button Widget settings.

Thank you for your response and assistance. I meant to write “text” and not test in my previous request. Where in a style sheet can you set the default text and text alignment? The default for text alignment is set to: “”Justify” and would to set to: “Center.” So wish to change default settings for both text size and text alignment.

Thank you again for you very helpful responses.

    Caps

P.S. I am testing out the theme builder: Kadence – was using Padma, a fork of Headway.

    Hi Caps

All themes and plugins overwrite themselves when updating. It it isn’t possible to edit theme or plugin files directly and have those changes survive an update. At a basic support level, we can assist with the Custom CSS provided in the documentation linked above. Unfortunately, the provided CSS would adjust not just the initial defaults but also those settings even after changing them. Adjusting the defaults at a widget setting would level would require a custom function to be written. Our developer can assist with that, but it must be done within our premium support scope. Sorry, I don’t have better news.

    Hello Andrew,

Thank you for your response. I think it may be a great addition to add a premium block types which would include the button block. Will be happy to advertise these premium blocks – free.

The Kadence Theme (builder) has such a plugin named, Blocks.

    Regards, Caps

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for your feedback. You can add a SiteOrigin Widget Block to the Block Editor and select the Button Widget. We’ll soon separate each widget into its own block. The single SiteOrigin Widget Block will still be available for those that have used it.

    Thanks again.

    Andrew
