Hi there,
I used the page builder to put a post loop on the ‘Kids’ page to only show blog posts from Kids category. What confuses me is that the category doesn’t show up below the post like it does for the regular blog (my site isn’t live so I can’t give url.
Here is ‘normal ‘ blog post:

Categories and related post plugin shows below.
Here is just ‘Kids’ page blog post using post loop widget:

No categories, no related posts.
These are my settings for the post loop widget:

Anything I can do to fix that?
Thanks!

Guessing here
The reason the category isn’t showing at the bottom of the post loop is because of the file you told the page builder to use to display the post. I am assuming that you are using a template called blog loop. The other posts are probably coming from the index page which uses content.php to display the posts. You need to add code into the blog loop template so that it will display the post category. For example, the twenty fourteen theme uses a function called twentyfourteen_posted_on to display the post meta.
Not a coder..wouldn’t even know where to begin…
Hi wiredpoet,
The “Posted in” only appears on the single post page, that’s the case with the regular blog layout and the Post Loop widget, going on my testing now. The same might be true for your plugin OR your plugin can’t target the loop inside a widget.
Is this screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/KbBUwtIY8 taken of a blog page or a single post page?
Hi Andrew,
It’s of a single blog post page.

Sorry, not quite with you then. The Post Loop widget isn’t active on single post pages. Can you perhaps send through a url so we can take a look.
Hi Andrew,
FINALLY got my Xampp test site to Dreamhost:
