Columns collapsing into rows

Hi guys,

Is it possible to achieve that N-column row adapts to smaller screens gradually, i.e. goes from N elements in one row to N-1 elements in first row and 1 element in 2nd row.

I am trying to make a multicolumn row to adapt to mobile phone screen. However it seems to go from 5 columns in one row to 5 rows in one column. I would like to achieve it going to 2 rows of 4 and 1 element first, 2 rows of 3 and 2 elements next, etc. In essence I want he following adaption:

Is there a way to achieve this?
