Can’t get the Corp Theme to work

When I install the Corp-theme, there is also a pre-made layout, that I would like to use. For instance I would like to put some text on top of the hero-picture, and this feature is only available in the pre-made layout.
But I can’t for some reason edit this layout. Whenever I push “edit”, it just shows me a blank screen with today’s date. And when I want to return, the sitepage has closed.
Has anyone experienced this problem?
