When I change the image on the first of the two frames in the default hero slider, my image will not fit. Even if I make my image the same size as the default image that cam in the pack.

The Hero uses background (image) size “cover”; the image covers the width and the height of the available space. In the case of a full screen container, the width is unknown. The image will be zoomed as much as is needed to cover the available space. Background size cover doesn’t work well for all image. If you resize your browser, you might get a better visualization of how background-size cover works. You might considering a height value in the Layout settings section Page: Hero or perhaps using the Slider Widget which doesn’t support text layers but does support background-size 100% which would likely resolve the desired challenge.
