Automatic update to Vantage Premium doesn’t work.

Hi there,

I’ve just purchased Vantage Premium and want to update my Vantage theme automatically because my website is a bussiness site and already active. It’s not possible to remove the free version. Maybe because WP is installed by my provider on their hosting server? When I worked locally on XAMPP I could perform this action without any problem. I would like to work with my Premium version a.s.a.p. and appreciate your help.

With kind regards,
Eveline

    Hi Eveline

Sorry about the hassle. If auto upgrade process is not working out for you, please try downloading an up to date ZIP file from the original order email we sent you and manually updating using this file.

Hi Addo, yes that is what I’ve planned to do. But…., I cannot remove the free installation! That’s why I’ve started this Post.

    Hi Eveline

If you have access to the server, log in using FTP (https://filezilla-project.org/). Navigate to wp-content/themes/. From there, find the theme folder of our theme you have installed and delete it. This should bring your site back to a default theme (like Twenty Fifteen).

    Try that out.

(I would recommend you use the earlier suggested method.)

Let me know if you encounter any difficulties while at this.

NOTE: As a rule of thumb always ensure you have a complete backup of your site.

Hi Addo, I’ve contacted my WP hosting provider and it turned out that their firewall settings where causing this problem. After they changed the settings I could easily perform the automatic update. If everything could be that simple ;-)!

    Thanks for your support.
