Add/Remove styles on built in button?

9 years ago · Last reply by George K 9 years ago

Is there a way to add styles (and if possible remove the existing ones) from the style drop down in the Buttons (PB) widget?

I was hoping to create some site specific button styles to allow an editor to pick between a couple pre-defined styles. We’re already implementing this by having editors add a css class to the attributes but having it in the dropdown might make it more straight forward as they wouldn’t need to remember the CSS class.

    Hi George,

Unfortunately, while this is possible, it isn’t possible without a fair amount of custom coding. This is beyond the scope of what we can help you with on the forums, but you could hire a developer to implement this for you.

    We highly recommend using Codeable.

I would highly recommend switching to the SiteOrigin Buttons widget as it’ll give you far more control. The SiteOrign Buttons widget is included in the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.

To clarify, the button (PB) widget is actually a legacy widget.

Thanks, I will probably take an alternate route of manipulating that menu with js and intercepting the selections and using them to insert classes into the classes area on the sidebar.
