Add Toc to blog posts page

5 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 5 years ago

I am trying to add a simple table of contents to the blog/archive page on my WordPress site. The page was set up in WordPress settings to be the “posts” page. All my posts automatically get added to this page, but the page is getting hard to navigate without a table of contents. I’ve tried using the plugin ezTOC, but it doesn’t apply to this page either, only to all my other pages. How can I use SiteOrigin to apply a theme to the page or edit this page to add a TOC?

    Hi Diana

    Thanks for posting.

By default, WordPress doesn’t output page content on the assigned posts page. Any content added to the content area of your posts page will be ignored. A way around this is to go to SettingsReading and deselect your posts page. Next, go to your posts page and using Page Builder insert a Post Loop widget. The Post Loop widget will display your posts allowing you to insert content above or below the posts feed. If your theme doesn’t offer any suitable templates for the Post Loop widget you can perhaps try the Blog widget offered by Livemesh SiteOrigin Widgets, a third-party plugin which adds widgets to the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.
