Add Toc to blog posts page

I am trying to add a simple table of contents to the blog/archive page on my WordPress site. The page was set up in WordPress settings to be the “posts” page. All my posts automatically get added to this page, but the page is getting hard to navigate without a table of contents. I’ve tried…
