3rd column not in place

Hi,

I am completely beginner in website building. I had designed my web pages using page builder. They are in 3 columns format in a row. It was working fine for past days, however last night the page display on the desktop screen is out of proportion. The 3rd column is not in place with the 1st & 2nd, thus leaving a blank column in 2nd row.

The pages are:

Appreciated if someone could advise.

Many thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Vincent,

I can’t seem to see the issue described. Is this still an issue you’re experiencing? If it is, we’ll jump right in and come up with a solution.

    Dear Alex & Andrew,

Thanks for the reply and appreciate. After your reply, I went to check the website with my daughter's desktop. I am surprised the columns rendering normally, though on my own desktop it showed like this:

Please advise if possible as it's inconvenient for me to judge the columns position when I building a page.

    Thanking you in advance.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks for your feedback.

Perhaps try going to SettingsPage BuilderLayout. Try changing the Mobile Width from 780 to 680 and see if that helps the problem on your computer.

(Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to upload media via email. If you’d like to insert an image into a reply you can do so via the Add Media button here on the forum.)

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the advice and I tried. However the problem still exist but when
I zoom out the webpage the columns rendering normally. Only concern some of the visitors to my website will face the same problem and they will find my website unpleasant while browsing.

Thank you and appreciated your assist and advice.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for your feedback. Is your browser zoom set to zero? If it’s not, I’m not sure how much of a problem this is. I have to zoom your site to 200% before the three columns change to two, all the zoom points from 100% till 200%, the column setup remains. Perhaps you can upload a screenshot here on the forum via the Add Media button and I’ll take a look. Thanks :)

    Hi, I Work Here

By, not sure how much of a problem this is, I mean that I’m not sure how many users have their browsers set to 200% zoom. Assuming that’s where the problem lies.

    Hi, I Work Here

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi Andrew,

    Thank you!

As for the temporary admin account, do I need to delete it now or leave it at the moment?

  18. 8 years, 6 months ago Andrew Misplon
    Hi, I Work Here

If you think you might need further assistance then you could leave it for a few weeks/months. If not, you can delete it now :)

    Hi, I Work Here

Sorry to hear about the hassle. Please, try clearing your browser’s cache. This has worked for most users with the problem you’re describing. There were some major changes made to the Live Editor. Everything should be normal after clearing your browser’s cache.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for your feedback. Have you tried checking for a plugin conflict? Once again, head over to Dashboard > Updates and run all pending updates, after that, try the steps below. Page Builder will flash the HTML of your page for a second after saving but it should revert to the normal Page Builder layout after that.

    //
Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for the update. This page:

    http://vincentongvirtualhomes.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=21085&action=edit

has moved out of Page Builder, there isn’t a way to recover from this. I’ve enabled Revisions by clicking Screen Options top right and then turning Revisions on. Please, try scrolling down past the Visual editor until you see the Revisions list. Try restoring from a version that was saved before this issue presented.

    Hi, I Work Here

Really sorry about this. You shouldn’t have a problem with Yoast. It might be worth creating a test page and then in Page Builder click the Prebuilt button. Next, use the Clone option in the left column to clone an existing Page Builder page. Now you have a way to test without risking anything.

    Hi, I Work Here

    No problem :)

Have you definitely edited theme files at a code level? If so, which files did you edit?

    Hi, I Work Here

No problem at all, this is an easy point of confusion. WordPress themes and plugins overwrite their own folder/code during the update process, that’s how the new version is delivered. This means that if you’ve gone to Appearance > Editor and changed says style.css, those changes would be lost in the theme update process. As long as you haven’t made code changes of this nature you can go ahead with the normal theme and plugin update process as they arrive at DashboardUpdates.
