Your theme doesn’t have any post loops.

Hi, I’ve had a look at other support posts with this issue, I’m not sure they apply.

I’m getting this message when trying to use the post loop widget.

A number of site factors may be at play:

We are using a plugin set/accompanying theme called Commons in Box which is Buddypress-based.
We are also using a child theme because, well for the usual reasons
There are plenty of loop templates, but the theme approach makes heavy use of template parts
Also the file organization is such that the loops are tucking in a /templates/loops subdirectory.

I believe it is one or both of the last two items that is giving me problems. Is there a work-around for this?

Thanks

    Hi Troy,

The post loop widget will search for templates that match the following syntax:

    'loop*.php',
    '*/loop*.php',
    'content*.php',
    '*/content*.php',

I’m 99% sure it won’t check more than two levels down so so that could also be the issue. Does this help?
