YoastSEO Reading Analysis fails with Vantage Headline widget

Submitted to YoastSEO forums as well:

Been having trouble getting the YoastSEO Reading Analysis function to work. I keep getting the “An error occurred in the ‘fleschReadingEase’ assessment” message. After trying recreating the page, I found that deactivating the Vantage Headline widget (used with the SiteOrigin Vantage Theme), seemed to fix the issue. But I don’t want to have to recreate every page title of my site.

Not sure if this is a problem with YoastSEO or Vantage Headline.

My website, Rebel Scale. All pages have a headline using that widget.

Thank you!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jonathan Campbell

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to replicate this issue. Would it be possible for you to send me an export for a page where this issue is occurring? This should, hopefully, allow me to replicate this issue. To do this please open up a page affected by this issue in the editor and click the Layout button in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

To clarify, are you using the latest version of Yoast and SiteOrigin Page Builder?

I think I did that right. This is one page that has the issue. Deleting the Vantage Headline seems to fix it strangely.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jonathan,

Unfortunately, I’m unable to replicate this issue with the provided layout – it works without issue for me.

To confirm, are you using the latest version of Vantage and Yoast?

If so, can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
