Yoast Seo Plugin – Sorry… another question

I’ve just about given up on trying to answer a simple question… does Pagebuilder work with Yoast SEO or not. Although Pagebuilder is “baked into” the theme we’re using (Nosh, by ThemeCanon), I installed the standalone version of the plugin to see if it would help.

On initial observation, the Yoast SEO plugin shows “only 2 words” on a particular page where all of the text/content is ONLY in widgets and assembled together with Pagebuilder. We are using the current version of Yoast SEO (2.3.4).

So my questions are:

1. If we copy content from the widgets to the page’s main edit area / visual editor, will the search engine robots see that as “duplicate content”.

2. I see the Pagebuilder tab in the visual editor, where I assume you can build/edit your page using Pagebuilder right there, instead of going to the “Pagebuilder” area on the WordPress sidebar. Would I have to rebuild all of my Pagebuilder templates in order for Yoast SEO to see them? I don’t see a way to export my current templates out.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Greg,

Preface: Based on your description of the plugin I don’t think you’re actually using the SiteOrigin Page Builder plugin. Some of the things you reference aren’t in the plugin, for example, there is no “Pagebuilder” area in the WordPress sidebar. With that said, I’ll answer your questions assuming you are just in case I’m wrong in my initial assumptions.

Yoast works with SiteOrigin Page Builder in every aspect but the text analysis functionality which is obviously a much-desired feature. This is a general Yoast issue. Currently, it’s a widespread problem for plugins that interface with the editor heavily. Please refer to the following thread Thread: Visual Editor not compatible with Yoast Seo content recognition for our official statement on this matter.

It’s somewhat misleading but basically, once you’ve entered Page Builder mode. Don’t leave it or you will suffer the loss of all SiteOrigin specific markup. We do transfer the vast majority of the text but it’s by no means perfect (and impossible for it to be so)

It should also be noted that you can “export” layouts quite easily. Click the prebuilt layout button and then select the import / export link in the sidebar. Click the download layout button to make a backup of the layout. To import it, just drop said layout in the import area.
