Thread reference: https://siteorigin.com/thread/yoast-seo-not-working-with-page-builder/

Hi, Like CLARKELZ(in the thread above) – I have Theme North installed and Yoast SEO on this site: http://www.neilfoxmassage.com and when completed as a ONE page website, I could not get any content in Yoast SEO for the ‘Home page’.

I have just searched the forum for “page builder and yoast seo” found heaps of threads, read about 10 threads before stumbling on this one above, that had an actual solution!!!

I’d like to confirm that I also added a blank, no content ‘text widget’ right under my ‘Visual Editor’ widget I already had in the site (created using the Black Studio Visual Editor widget), re-saved my page and then BINGO, Yoast suddenly went from o content to having 691 words of content!!YES a solution

I then proceeded to DELETE this blank Visual Editor widget row, Publish the page again and YES the Yoast SEO score and word count stayed as 691 words, thank god.

This is rather alarming that one doesn’t know or find this info without painstaking research……………does it lead to there being some incompatibility issues, that could be noted for all users to be aware of OR perhaps a fix made??

Regards, Dennis

Further issues: just completed this website: margaretriverpanelbeaters.com.au using ‘North’ and a it is identical in Page Builder & Yoast SEO use to the above website.

Yet, now in finalising Yoast, I cannot get Yoast to recognise any word count, simply states: “the text contains 0 words. This is far below the recommended minimum of 300 words. Add more content that is relevant for the topic.

No matter where I place a new empty “text widget” or “visual editor widget” I cannot get Yoast to recognise any word count. Very frustrating!

    Any thoughts appreciated?

    Thanks Dennis

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dennis,

To clarify, that setting is the fix. We can’t enforce this setting (as it does create a lot of extra content in the database and will likely cause performance issues on older computer) but it is enabled by default on all new sites.

Regarding your other site. Does that site have the Copy Content setting enabled? If so, I recommend adding an RSS widget rather than a text widget as that is way more likely to trigger the SiteOrigin Page Builder to copy the content over.

Hi Alex S, thanks for your post.

Yr comment “Does that site have the Copy Content setting enabled?” – Could you please advise where I’d find that field?
All I use is WP Security Plugin that has an option to “Enable Copy Protection” – this I have enabled BUT turning it off has no effect by adding an RSS widget.

I have tried adding a blank RSSS widget/saved the page/still no change in the Yoast SEO – Zero words in copy.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dennis,

You can find the copy content setting at WP Admin > Settings > Page Builder and opening the Content tab.
The Copy Protection plugin you’re referring too wouldn’t be factored in as everything is done on the backend – where it wouldn’t make sense to have copy protection running so the plugin likely doesn’t load anything there.

Alex, thanks I found that, sorry I have not checked that area at all!!!

YES the copy content is ON, by default I suppose it was checked.

So where too now if you have any further thoughts?

    Thanks Dennis

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dennis,

To clarify, what version of Yoast and SiteOrigin Page Builder are you using? These can be found at WP AdminPluginsInstalled Plugins.

Does this issue occur when only SiteOrigin Page Builder and Yoast are installed?

  7. 8 years, 5 months ago dennisg51

Alex, I’m up to date with the Plugin versions: Page builder Version 2.4.21, Yoast Version 4.1, WP instal is WordPress 4.7.1 running SiteOrigin North theme.

    My Plugins are:

    Smooth Scroll Up
Version 1.2 | By Konstantinos Kouratoras | View details

    Yoast SEO
Version 4.1 | By Team Yoast | View details

NB: all the above Plugins are also installed on http://www.neilfoxmassage.com and this is the website I was able to create a ‘dummy blank’ Visual Editor widget and that got Yoast word count working.(ref; my first post)

    ———————————————————
Stage test-1.I have deactivated all except: Page Builder (3 items) & Yoast.
    2. Add a RSS Widget to a row, no content, save Home page – NO text count in Yoast
    3. Re-Activate Black Studio – Add to a row a Visual Editor Widget with no content – save Home page – NO text count in Yoast
    4. Add to a row a Text Widget, place 4 words into it – save Home page – NO text count in Yoast

Alex I’m sorry to say I have no more time to play with this issue, it’s just broke!!!

I hope from the Page Builder site perspective I have given you enough information to try an determine why there appears to be incompatibility?

    Dennis
