Yoast incompatibilty

7 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 7 years ago

Hi

I’ve found a few threads of similar topic but no resolution which works for my site. https://thepinkfairy.co.uk/

These examples are related to homepage content but I’m having the same problems on all the other pages.

YOAST is able to read the content of the page but seems to be unable to source the information it needs for the following points:

The focus keyword doesn’t appear in the first paragraph of the copy. Make sure the topic is clear immediately.

The images on this page are missing alt attributes.

No outbound links appear in this page, consider adding some as appropriate.

It can read the content as it knows how many words there are but seems to be unable to locate the keywords in the copy, it seems unable to read the alt tags on my images (displayed using the Hero Image Widget) and unable to see the links from buttons and image links (also part of the Hero image widget)

The website is using Astra Theme and has minimal other plugins installed – none which control front end design.

    Hi SoJo,

The focus keyword doesn’t appear in the first paragraph of the copy. Make sure the topic is clear immediately.

Unfortunately, this isn’t something that can be fixed. Basically, Yoast doesn’t actually check the first paragraph, it checks whatever is first and that’s exactly where we need to add a structural div (rather than a paragraph).

Please note that Google will still be able to pick up on the usage of the focus keyword in your first paragraph.

it seems unable to read the alt tags on my images (displayed using the Hero Image Widget) and unable to see the links from buttons and image links (also part of the Hero image widget)

The hero widget displays images as a background image so it doesn’t have alt tags. I’m unsure why the button and image links aren’t being picked up. Hm. Actually, is the image link the hero frame background? If so, that makes sense not showing up as that’s applied via an overlay.
