I just updated PB to 2.4.24 and SO Widgets to 1.8.1. At the same time, I was updating other plugins, including Yoast SEO to 4.3. And this is with WP 4.7.2.
Suddenly, the Customize function in WP was showing a blank screen on the preview side (you could see the left hand modules).
After testing with a default WP theme and removing all plugins and adding them one by one, I discovered that keeping Yoast SEO 4.3 deactivated solved the issue.
But prompted by a post on a help site, I went back and turned off all plugins except Yoast and the Customizer worked fine.
Having gone through each plugin and adding them back in, it looks like SO Widgets Bundle is causing the issue. I can have PB active, but as soon as I activate the Widgets Bundle, the Customizer disappears.
Wondered if anyone else has experienced this.
BTW, I have no caching or minifying going on with this site.
Not sure now about a conflict between Yoast and SO Widgets.
I’ve just been setting up a new WP site with both plugins and the Customizer is working.
Will report back when I find the difference between the two sites.
Hi George,
This sounds like you’ve reached the memory limit. You need to apply a pretty hands on fix to resolve this issue. This article would be a good read as it’ll outline how to change it. You’ll need to edit wp-config.php. If you’re unfamiliar with FTP, I would recommend asking your hosting provider for help with editing this file.
