Wp-accessibility font-size toggle button doesn’t work with Vantage theme

Hello,
recently the school where I work was required to bring its wbsite up to the WCAG accessibility standard.
We have uploaded the wp-accessibility plugin, but the accesibility toolbar fontsize adjustment and contrast toggles do not seem to work with the Vantage theme: font-size and contrast just stay the same.
We need a button that enlarges the text size at least. I know basic css, but I don’t know how to write a WordPress plugin, and the headmaster just doesn’t accept ‘I can’t do it’ as an answer.
What is to be done?
