Hi,

I have an issue after upgrade to WP 5 because the latest posts, using the new image blocks are not displayed on the front page. If I use the the direct URL (https://blogwithphotos.net/hermosa-beach-in-december/) the page opens with no problem, but it’s just not shown on the front page (https://blogwithphotos.net). Usually the last post appears on top as the most recently published one.

Interesting enough, the new post appear under the Archived / Category page (https://blogwithphotos.net/category/archives/landscape/)

The previous post, using the WP 4.x format is shown as the “last post” on the front page.

It’s only me who has this problem? Any idea?

Thanks!

    Hi Yotis,

I’m not too sure why this is happening. Does this issue occur again when you create a new post? Does this issue occur if you temporarily change your WordPress theme?

    Hi Alex,

Yes, it occurs when I create a new post. I’ll try changing the theme and let you know if I see the same behavior.

    Thanks!

    Hi Alex,

    Sorry for the late reply.

    I found the cause :)

I’ve noticed that if I’m logged in, the front page appears as it should be. So, it couldn’t have been the theme, rather something with a “caching” mechanism.

I’m using a plugin called hummingbird-performance (https://wordpress.org/plugins/hummingbird-performance/) and I had to clear the cache. Usually I didn’t have to do this for a new post, more like if I would change something in the site appearance or some code, but now for some reason it required manually clear of the cache.

Sorry to had you bother with this issue, I should have seen it earlier.

    Thanks and cheers!
