WordPress 5 So-Blocks encounter error

Hello,

i’m testing WordPress 5 on a stage-enviroment.
The old pages still work great with the “pagebuilder-modus” but when i want to try the new editor on a new page -> Blocks from the pagebuilder display the following message: “this block encountered an error and cannot be previewed.”

If you enable a private message i can offer you login-informations.

Best regards

Simon

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Simon,

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

If that doesn’t help, would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

    Hello Alex,

thanks a lot for the answer! So i found out that a (paid) plugin called “German Market” is causing the problems. This is quite strange as this plugin is for Woocommerce and mainly adds options to the backend. I’m going to write the plugin-developer as well. I’m using 2012-Theme but tried Vantage as well – same behaviour.

I just added you as an admin. The German Market Plugin is disabled at the moment on this stage-site.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Simon,

To confirm, does this issue not occur when the German Market plugin is disabled? If so, that suggests that plugin is conflicting with the newly introduced Block Editor. I definitely recommend reaching out to the developer of that plugin to report this issue. It’s quite possible this issue can be avoided by installing the Classic Editor.

Regardless, unfortunately, we haven’t received an email from your website yet – you’ll receive notification when we do. If this issue is still occurring regardless of whether the German Market plugin is installed or not, can you please try re-creating the account? Sorry about this!

    Hello Alex,

to confirm: the pagebuilder works once the plugin is disabled and stops working when the plugin is activated again. I’m sending you the login-information again.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Simon,

Thanks. Does this issue occur when German Market is the only plugin active? I ask as I suspect the German Market plugin isn’t compatible with WordPress 5.0.

    Hello Alexs,

the developers of German Market were able to fix it. There was a script-problem on the backend.
It’s working as exspected now. They are going to push the fix within their next update.
