WordPress 5.01 Guttenberg View for Old Posts and Pages Has Gone

7 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 7 years ago

Hi, I’ve also found this same problem with 5.01 and the previous threads settings work for new posts thanks, however, when editing old posts and pages, I still have the classic editor and the new-fangled look, but not the S.O. Gutenberg view, is that something we can manually bring back too?

Many thanks for your support

Ky

    Hi Ky

    Thanks for reaching out.

Old pages that were never in Page Builder should now default to the current editor which in 5.0.1 is the Block Editor. Pages that had Page Builder data will remain in the Classic Editor. If you wanted to migrate existing Page Builder pages you could do so manually by editing the page, click LayoutsImport/Export and downloading the layout. You could then upload the layout to a SiteOrigin Layout Block via the same steps. If you were recreating the page it would need to be deleted and deleted from Trash to free up the permalink.
