Hi there,

I’m having issues with formats within the editor widget.

On opening an editor widget, the formatting is appearing in the text box, such as:
Less than hfour style=”text-align: center;”>words words words</hfour greater than

There are no format controls on the box, and if I try editing the h4 to h5, the changes don’t save.

I’ve tried deactivating all but the necessities, however it doesn’t seem to help.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!
Shaun

    Hi Shaun,

Unfortunately, it sounds like you’re experiencing a semi-common WordPress bug which negatively effects TinyMCE. To fix this issue you’ll need to disable Admin Javascript Concatenation which will require editing your wp-config.php file. If you need help with editing this file, please reach out to your hosting provider for assistance with this.

    Hi,

    Thanks for this.

    I've found the wp-config.php file through the FTP and added the following line of code: define( 'CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false );

Does it matter where I add the line? I've inserted it straight after the debugging lines.

It seems to have saved in the file as I've exited the FTP and logged back in to view it. Unfortunately, the issue still persists. Any suggestions?

    Thanks again.

    Hi Shaun,

The area you added it sounds fine.

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
