Woocommerce sidebar appearing at bottom instead of on the right

By aungar93, 5 years ago. Last reply by Alex S, 5 years ago.

Hi,

My sidebar on my woocommerce category pages is appearing at the bottom of the page when it should be appearing on the right at the top. Please can you explain how to move this to the top right.

Thanks,

Adam

    Hi Adam,

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    Hi Adam,

I’ve had a look at your website and I can’t seem to see your sidebar. I suspect you’ve disabled the sidebar. If you would like to use a sidebar on your WooCommerce pages, please re-enable the Sidebar and let me know. I’ll provide you with some CSS to fix this asap.

    Hi Alex,

The sidebar is on for all the WooCommerce pages, it is at the bottom of the page on the right for product subcategories and has two filters in it.

    Thanks,

    Adam

    Hi Aungar93,

Please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize, Theme DesignSidebar and set the Sidebar Position to the desired location. How does that look?

    Hi,

Apologies for the delayed reply. This moves the sidebar between the right and left at the bottom of the page but there is no way to bring it to the top right in line with the first row of categories or products depending on which page you are on. Is there a way to move it to there?

    Thanks,

    Adam

    Hi Adam,

According to the markup of your page, your sidebar has been disabled on that page – I’m not too sure why it’s still actually outputting.

Please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize. Navigate to your Shop page in the customizer preview and then open the Page Template Settings group in the Customizer settings. Open the Type: Products settings and set the Layout to Default and save. How does that look?

    Hi Alex,

That works on the shop page thank you, however the sidebar is still at the bottom on a product category page. I’ve set the page template on the product category page to default as well but this doesnt seem to have worked.

    Thanks,

    Adam

    Hi Adam,

Please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize. Navigate to a product category in the customizer preview and then open the Page Template Settings group in the Customizer settings. Open the Taxonomy: Product categories settings and set the Layout to Default and save. How does that look?
